Originally, during the period when we were using the ferrite magnet magnetic separators, we had to periodically clean the tank and changeover the degraded coolant.. This was a great deal of work and a headache to deal with.

In around 2000, we were introduced to he forerunner to the FineMag, the SMK (Rare Earth) Series. The timing was very good and after using a demo unit, we ended up purchasing about 100 FineMags over the past 10 years or so.

More than anything, the result of purchasing these FineMags is that we are very satisfied with the sludge recover rate and squeezing performance. Exactly speaking, our recover rates are currently 3 times what they were before employing the FineMags.

Also, material like carbon, etc. that are normally not recoverable are held by the magnetic sludge.The recovery rate increased, and tank cleanings were reduced to just 1/3 of the previous number, although this depends on frequency of use and the timing of coolant change.

Also, another important evaluation point is that the initial performance is maintained long-term.As it was cheaper, we installed a separator from a different company and this separator did not have a drum surface that had undergone a special treatment. Having not used it even a year, the drum surface was already scratched.

Lastly, even after 5-6 years of use, as the FineMag did not breakdown, as its initial recovery performance was maintained, our valuation of the equipment is high. Also the chain and sprockets of the other company’s separators easily broke and required parts replacements.Overall, when considering the performance and breakdown rate, we believe the FineMag is a excellent product.
